History
Established in 1985 as a formal chapter of the TKGA, the Knitting Artists of Northern Virginia and its initial five members met each month at a local library and park.
The guild members soon incorporated instructional programs, exhibited their work at local events, and began a strong program of community service.
Some of the highlights in the guild's history include knitting costume parts for the Folger Shakespeare Theater in Washington, D.C.; having charter member Kay Donaldson named as Knitter of the Year by Knitter's Magazine, and having Lily Chin as a former member.
Today, the guild continues with the traditions established by its founders.
